MAGNETIC FIELD LOCATION – BIOSENSE WEBSTER (JNJ)

A magnetic field location system and method are provided for use in tracking a distal end of a catheter or the like in a surgical or exploratory procedure within a living body disposed on a support structure, such as a patient bed, table or gurney. Dual low-profile elongated field generation pads are provided that are configured for selective placement along respective sides of the living body disposed on the support structure. Each field generation pad includes a plurality of magnetic coils operable to generate magnetic fields.
